Gibsonburg resident, Nicholas Alan Reiter, 51 died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at the St. Charles Mercy Medical Hospital in Oregon. Born on Aug. 7, 1962, he was the son of Bruce and Rebecca (Buskirk) Reiter. He graduated from Old Fort High School and earned a degree in Electro Mechanical Robotics at Terra Community College. As a scientist, Nicholas worked for the Calyxo Company in Perrysburg. On June 29, 1984, he married Debora "Deb" Wheatley at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lindsey. She survives. Also surviving are his mother Rebecca of Tiffin; sons Trevor, Peter and Ian all of Gibsonburg; granddaughter Margot Reiter; and sister Natalie (Dennis)Eberly of Tiffin. Nicholas was known to be a published author and has been broadcasted on TV and radio as a Paranormal Investigator. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, travelling, cooking and spending time with his family and animals. He also attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg. A time of gathering in remembrance will be offered on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, 2-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg where an additional hour of gathering followed by a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, 11 a.m. Rev. Max Ulderich will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Contributions in Nicholas' memory may be to the American Cancer Society, to fight against Colon Cancer.
