Raymond Patterson

Raymond Lee Patterson, 85, of Fremont, OH, formerly of Wauwatosa, WI, died on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013. He was born in Loogootee, IN, Nov. 7, 1928 to Joseph and Doris (Smith) Patterson. He graduated from Loogootee High School and from St. Joseph College, IN. Ray served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Korea. He was married to Barbara Ann (Arnold) on Jan. 21, 1951. They were married over 50 years. Ray is survived by his children Kevin of Elgin, IL, Steven of Philadelphia, PA, Michael (Valerie) of Brooklyn, NY and Nancy (Charlie) of Gibsonburg, OH; brother Donald Patterson of Bloomfield Hills, MI; grandchildren Addie (Brian) Tobey, Sarah Overmyer (Steve Mitchell), Matthew Clark, Barbara Patterson; and great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Jacob, Connor and Ayden. Ray is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Barbara, youngest son Daniel Patterson and sister Barbara (Patterson) Cropp. Ray will be remembered as a loving parent and gentle grandparent. He was an accomplished athlete playing varsity basketball and baseball for The Loogootee Lions and earning a scholarship to play basketball at St. Joseph College. He was successful businessman, becoming President of Union Drop Forge in Milwaukee. In his later days he enjoyed playing golf, listening to music, watching sports, especially the Packers, movies and period dramas. Burial will be at a later date.
