Toledo residents, Joseph William and Helen Marie Rogowski, ages 84 and 78, died tragically when their home caught fire November 2, 2013. Joseph was born in Rossford, OH on April 24, 1929 to Joseph J. and Charlotte (Oldiges) Rogowski; Helen on May 12, 1935 in Kansas, OH to Charles and Catherine (Kauffman) Reinbolt. He graduated from Rossford High School and Helen graduated from St. Wendelin. Joseph joined the US Navy, serving in WW II. He worked as a boilermaker and electrician for Toledo Coke. He was known for his enjoyment of tinkering with projects and working with plants of all sorts. He liked to camp and remodeling homes. He also loved his German Shepherds. Helen was a homemaker and also enjoyed camping with her husband. She also liked to sew and going to craft shows. They were married on July 3, 1965 at St. James Catholic Church in Kansas, OH where both were members. Surviving them are siblings; Paul (Carol) Rogowski, Perrysburg, OH, Stanley Rogowski, Dublin, OH, Helen Veler, Coppell, TX, Elaine Shakelford, Perry, GA, Mike (Flo) Reinbolt, Newport, MI, Joseph (Lois) Reinbolt, Columbus, OH; two nieces and a nephew, Teri Chamos, Romulus, MI, Michelle Franklin, Columbus, OH and Kenneth Reinbolt, Columbus, OH; loyal extended family members, John (Kay) Reinbolt, Helena, OH and Raymond Kreais, Toledo, OH. They are preceded in death by their parents and siblings Bernard Rogowski and William and John Reinbolt. Graveside Memorial Services with Military Rites for Joseph will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery, Millersville. Rev. Ted Miller will officiate.
