Robert "Bob" Gebauer, 76 of Fremont, passed away on March 2, 2014 at Countryside Continuing Care Center, Fremont. Bob was born on September 9, 1937 to Oscar and Martha (Ulrich) Gebauer. He graduated from Fremont Ross in 1955. Bob worked at Fremont News Messenger as a photographer before joining the Army. He later worked for American Airlines in Chicago, Cleveland and Denver. Bob helped set up first American Airlines Terminal at Stapelton Airfield in Denver, then on to Denver International Airport before he retired to return home to care for his mother. Bob was a devoted son to his Mother, caring for his family when his father died when Bob was 13. He enjoyed karate and golfing. Surviving are brothers; David (Deborah) of Clyde and Jerry (Pam) of Fremont and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at First United Church of Christ on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Elaine Bast will officiate. Burial will be held at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Church of Christ.
