Richard L. "Dick" Smith, 76, of Lindsey, passed away at Memorial Hospital in Fremont on April 14, 2014. Dick was born in Fremont on February 7, 1938 to Lawrence and Eunice Fellerath. He was a 1956 graduate of Green Springs High School. On June 22, 1955, he married Roxanna Polter at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde. Dick was a driver and salesman for Archway Cookies and Nickel's Bakery, retiring in 2000. He was retired from Allen Township Fire Department and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Surviving along with his wife are children; Debra Sidell of Fremont, Lorrie Truselle of Bettsville, Tami (Steve) Hottinger of Fremont, and Mary Jo (Kirk) Tianchita of Marengo, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and canine buddy, Penny. He is preceded in death by his parents and step father, Bill Roth. Visitation will be held at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fremont at 3:00 p.m. with one hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Joseph Lees will officiate In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Fremont Memorial Hospice, St. Jude Children's Hospital or Sandusky County Special Olympics.
