Zeno Francis Wasserman, 93, of Burgoon, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 17, with family at his side. Zeno was born on January 4, 1921, in Ballville Township to Hugo and Mary (Miller) Wasserman. Hugo died in 1923 when Zeno was 2 years old. His mother then married George Miller in 1932. Both are deceased. Zeno married Emma Tiell on February 15, 1947 at St Joseph Church in Tiffin, Ohio, and she survives. Zeno is also survived by his sons: John (Carol) Wasserman of Fremont, Leo Wasserman of Dayton, Paul (Joanie) Wasserman of Burgoon, and Roger (Barb) Wasserman of Burgoon, his daughters: Jan (Larry) Bloemer of Louisville, KY, Teresa (Rich) Wasserman of Fremont, and Karen (Gregg) Cline of Findlay; his grandchildren: Kevin (Nicole) Wasserman of Fremont, Brenda (Eric) Peiffer of Fremont, Melanie (Josh Lindley) Bloemer of Louisville, KY, Tim Bloemer of Louisville, KY, Rebecca (Zach) Rickman of Wingate, NC, Jason (Kacie) Wasserman of London, England, Andrea (Andy) Nagy of Fremont, Sarah (Kris) Balde of Milan, Diane Cline of Somerville, MA, Emily Cline of Columbus, Angie (DJ) Swearingen of Huron, and Camille Wasserman of Charleston, SC; great grandchildren: Leah Wasserman, Rachel Wasserman, Abby Nagy, Alyssa Nagy, Ava Nagy, Kendall Balde, Kourtney Balde, Zoey Wasserman, Presley Lindley, and Mary Clare Swearingen. Sister-in-laws Margie Wasserman and Florence Cunningham survive. Zeno was preceded in death by his brothers Roman Wasserman, Donald Wasserman, and Brother Norbert Wasserman, CPPS, and his sister Alma (Wasserman) Miller. Zeno graduated with honors from Jackson Burgoon High School in 1938. He was a lifelong farmer in Jackson Township. Zeno was a member of St Mary Catholic Church in Millersville, the Holy Name Society, the Farm Bureau, and the Knights of Columbus. Zeno served on the Sandusky County Board of Education, volunteered at the Sandusky County Food Pantry, served on the St Mary Cemetery Board, and was a former Rural Serve Board member. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22 at 10:30 a.m. at St Mary Catholic Church, Millersville, with nephew Fr Ted Miller presiding. A quiet time of reflection will begin at St. Mary Church one hour prior to the mass. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm, Monday, April 21 at Hermann-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg where a prayer vigil will be held at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be in St Mary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Society for the Propagation of Faith, Stein Hospice, or Donor's choice.
