George L. Hoffman, 62, formerly of Gibsonburg and most recently of Lindsey, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Countryside Continuing Care Center, Fremont. He was born on December 19, 1951 in Fremont to Bernard and Cecelia (Hammer) Hoffman. George was a 1970 graduate of Lakota High School. He then went on to be a farmer on his family farm, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks in his free time. George was a member of St. Mary's Church, Millersville. Surviving are children Mike (Clorissa) Hoffman of Livingston, TN and Greg Hoffman of Burgoon, OH; siblings Catherine "Kitty" Lotycz, Mary Lou (Wayne) Stults, and Agnes (Dave) Peiffer all of Fremont and Lawrence (Marilyn) Hoffman of Fostoria; and 3 grandchildren Gage, Praize, and Katelyn. He is preceded in death by both his parents and siblings Bernie Esker, Carl Hoffman, and Clete Hoffman. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 3-5 pm & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Millersville where there will be an hour of silent reflection beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Millersville. Contributions in George's memory may be made to the Liberty Center in Fremont, Hospice of Memorial Hospital or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
