William "Bill" C. Hasselbach, 65, of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky. Bill was born on September 1, 1948 to Robert and Doris (Paulson) Hasselbach in Fremont. He married his wife Alice Stagner on April 20, 1974 in Genoa. Bill was a 1966 graduate of Lakota High School, 1968 graduate of Waldorf College (Iowa), and a 1970 graduate of Findlay College. He received his BA of Science in Education. Bill went on to be an industrial engineer and environmental manager for 40 years at Green Bay Packaging before retiring in 2011. Bill enjoyed genealogy, history; especially Civil War History and Reenactment, playing chess, and was a Cleveland sports fan. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont. Surviving him is his wife, Alice Hasselbach; children Andrea (Eric) Herr of Tiffin and Ryan Hasselbach of Fremont; and siblings Scott (Shirlene) Hasselbach and Pat (Dan) Brackin of AR, and Deb (Tom) Heiserman of Fremont. Bill is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 3-8pm, with a memorial service on Monday starting at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont with a half-hour of visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Jody Rice will be officiating. Memorials may be made to Stein Hospice or ALS Association in Bill's memory.
