Randall Scott Sponseller

Randall "Randy" Scott Sponseller 60 of Gibsonburg passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at Hospice of NW Ohio, Perrysburg. Randy was born on May 3, 1954 in York, PA to Raymond & Janet (Sprenkle) Sponseller. He graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1972 and enlisted in the US Airforce serving for 20 years as a medic and in medical logistics retiring in 1993. Randy later worked for JayTel locating underground utilities, and also worked for Aeroquip as a laborer. On November 12, 1981 he married Marsha Huff in Clyde and she survives in Gibsonburg. Randy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion in Gibsonburg, the VFW Post in Fremont, loved fishing, hunting, grilling, antiques and gardening. He enjoyed attending chili cookoffs and also was a member of the Sandusky County chili cookoff. Surving is his wife; Marsha, children; Andrew (Angela) Sponseller of Sylvania, Janette Sponseller of Gibsonburg, grandchildren; Madison Brown and Jace Sponseller. Randy is also survived by his siblings; Kerry (Colleen) Sponseller of VA, Mark (Teri) Sponseller and Brad Sponseller both of TX. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 1-4 PM with a funeral service beginning at 4pm with Pastor Blair Miller officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at W. Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of NW Ohio, Perrysburg, American Legion Post, Gibsonburg, American Lung Assoc. or to Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg in Randy's memory.
