Matilda Mae (Sours) Hetrick, also known as Tillie, passed away on June 19, 2014 at Valley View Health Center, Fremont. She was born on January 23, 1922 to Thurman and Marietta (Swerlein) Sours in Wyandot County, OH. Tillie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a resident of Rice Township and Ballville Township. Tillie graduated from Green Springs High School in 1940. She worked at Joseph's Department Store, on the family chicken ranch, and was a real estate agent in the Fremont area, retiring in 2004. Tillie married Vincent T. Hetrick on June 29, 1944. They raised three daughters. Tillie was very involved in her church, sewing activities for missions, teaching Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. She was also a 4-H leader for her daughters, being a very accomplished seamstress and gardener. She also served on the election board and Rice Township Zoning Board. Tillie was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Sue Lieske. She is survived by her husband, Vincent; daughters, Cheryl (Jerry) Osborne of Omaha, NE and Judy Longoria of Fremont; grandchildren, Quinn (Jennifer) of Omaha, NE, Jodi Lieske (Jeremy Harrison) of Parker, CO; Michael Lieske (Debbie) of Westfield, IN; Aaron Osborne of Kansas City, MO; and Emily Longoria of Fremont. Great grandchildren, Katelyn, Emma, and Breck Osborne; Allison and Kassidy Harrison; MacKenna and Andrew Lieske; and Ethan Longoria. Visitation will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 9:30-11 AM, with funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jody Rice will be officiating. There will be a private family interment following the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital or Lutheran Social Services.
