Gibsonburg resident Agie Estep, 80, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Agie was born on January 5, 1934 in Paw Paw, KY, a son of nine children of David and Ethel (Ashby) Estep. On May 8, 1954, he married Phyllis Weber in Gibsonburg. Agie worked 30 years as an electrician for Pfizer Lime, Gibsonburg until its closure. He then took employment with the former GenCorp of Toledo, retiring from there in 1999. He enjoyed being a HAM and CB operator. He will be remembered for his writing and playing of bluegrass and gospel music. He was a published author of "The Old Timer, Songs I Wrote" Volumes 1 and 2, with Volume 3 being in progress. He will be greatly missed by his family and grandchildren whom he truly cherished. Surviving him is his wife of 60 years, Phyllis; children Ronald Dean (Lorraine) Estep of Maryland, Gary (Danielle) of Hillman, MI, Brenda (Americo) Zavaleta of Cornelius, NC and Carol (Robert) Gibson of Oak Harbor; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Agie is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014, 10:30 a.m., at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg where family and friends will be received Monday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Rev. Blair Miller will officiate. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the donor's choice.
