Helena resident, Martha A. Fought, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Martha was born in rural Seneca County on June 25, 1928, a daughter of George and Lula (Copsey) Swartzmiller. She graduated from Hopewell Loudon High School and married Loyal A. Fought in Green Springs on July 9, 1949. Loyal passed on June 7, 2004. Martha was an active person who loved her family and her church. She prayed daily for each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and regularly attended the Fremont Alliance Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and completing word search puzzles. She especially loved playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving her are children Marvin (Frieda) Fought and Priscilla (Jeffrey) Williams all of Helena; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Martha is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyal; children Wayne Fought and Anne Fraley; grandson, Nathan Fought; and sister Garland Neeb. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at the Fremont Alliance Church where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Family and friends will be welcomed at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg, Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be at Washington Chapel Cemetery. Contributions in Martha's memory may be made to the Fremont Alliance Church Building Fund.
