Gibsonburg resident, Ricardo "Rick" Rodriguez, 64, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 2 at the Cleveland Clinic. Born in Laredo, TX on Feb. 2, 1950, he was a son of Felipe and Maria (Castro) Rodriguez. Rick served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1969- 1971. Afterwards, he worked at the Toledo Hospital for 25 years and 18 years as a supervisor at Reino's Linen Service in Gibsonburg until the onset of his illness. Rick loved his family and spending time with all of them. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening and his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He liked to cook and watch and collect movies of all kinds. On Aug. 1, 2001, he married Tina Roberts in Fremont. Tina survives. Also surviving are children Amy (Mike) Blohm of Delta, OH, Rick Jr. (Kim) of Wayne, B-Jay (Leslie) of Deerfield, MI, Nicki (Aaron) Lehmann of Fremont and Myriah of Gibsonburg; step-son Matthew (Dana) Ruble of Bradner; grandchildren Samantha, Ricky and McKenzie ; siblings, Rita (Tom) Strabley, Noe (Debbie) Rodriguez, Margarita (Mike) Hyslop, David (Colleen) Rodriguez, Irene (Larry) Stull, and Ruth (Dan) Osovitch all of Toledo; and sister-in-law, Janie Rodriguez, wife of Rene'. Rick is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Felipe, Jr. and siblings Rene' and Oscar. A Time of Gathering will be offered at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick's memory may be made to the care of his family.
