Janet Otermat, 81, died at her home in Fremont on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, with her husband of 60 years, Samuel Otermat, at her side. Born on the 21st day of October 1933, in Fremont, Janet was one of five children born to Zeldon and Lois (Keiser) Lance. After graduating from Fremont Ross High School in 1951, Janet married Sam and became a partner in the development and success of the Otermat family apple farm, located on north State Hwy 53. Janet was also a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan and the baseball season will not be the same without her. Janet's parents and a sister, Judy Wise, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Otermat; her son, Randy (Deb) Otermat of Findlay, and daughter Julie Otermat of Houston, TX. Janet leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Samuel, Jacqueline and Jennifer Hassell and Brandie Wilson, and 3 great-grandchildren, Faith, Noah and Emily Middleton. Also surviving Janet is sister Evelyn (Robert) Williamson, brother Scott (Pam) Lance, both of Fremont, and brother, Gary (Therese) Lance of Broadlands, VA. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 1-3 & 5-7 pm on Sunday, November 30th at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont. Funeral services for Janet will be on TUESDAY, December 2nd at 10 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont where there will be an additional hour of visitation beginning at 9 am. Burial will follow at (Trinity) Greenwood Cemetery in Rice Township.
