Jack Charles "Gentleman Jack" Taft, 68, formerly of 7 W. 13th Street, Jamestown, died Monday December 1, 2014, in Windsor Lane Health Care Center, Gibsonburg, OH. He was born September 14, 1946, in Jamestown, a son of the late Gerald and Ida Franchina Taft. He was a 1964 graduate of Jamestown High School. He was employed by Falconer Plate Glass as a foreman until 1996. Jack was also an entertainer who, in the Spring, would travel to Canada with the circus and return to Jamestown in the Fall. Gentleman Jack was his clown name. He loved children and making them laugh especially at birthday parties. He also dressed as Santa Claus at Christmas time. Jack was an amazing person who was a very kind, giving man always helping everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a member of Midnight Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. Surviving are his life-long partner Pauline Hunt with whom he shared his life for over thirty years; their children Leonia, Robert and Donald Hunt; two sisters Sharon Ecker and Kathy Johnson, both of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews in the Jamestown area.
