Donna Eloise Wilhelm, a former resident of Fremont for 60 years, passed away on her 79th birthday; Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at her residence in Elba, Alabama. She was born December 3, 1935 in Helena to the late Clayton Lash and Eleanor (Sump) Reineck. Donna was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fremont, where she sang in the choir. She retired from the Sandusky County Sheriff's Department. Donna is survived by her four children; Michael (Cathy) Wilhelm of Jackson Center, OH, Darlene (David) Melton of Elba, AL; Gregory (Deborah) Wilhelm of Pequea, PA, and Laurie (Richard Beres) Wilhelm of Gary, IN; brother, Jim Lash; sisters, Sharon Woessner and Sue Sleek; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Brandon, Robbie, Christen, Rebekah, Luke, Simon, Matthew, Rachel, Mark, Alana, Scarlette; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Wilhelm, and her brother, Lawrence Lash. A celebration of Donna's life will be held Friday, Dec. 12th, 2014 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont. The family will begin receiving guests at 2 p.m., where friends and family are invited to participate in a tribute to remembering her well-lived life at 4 p.m. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Choice Hospice, Elba, AL, or Leader Dogs for the Blind, Rochester Hills, MI in Donna's memory.
