Larry Allen Smith, 75, of Clyde passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic. Born on November 28, 1939, he was the son of Clayton and Marcella (Tebbe) Smith. Larry attended Gibsonburg High School with the class of 1957, and immediately enlisted in the Navy. He served in the USA and Japan, until his discharge in 1961. Larry then attended Terra Community College for 2 years. He was a skilled woodworker and an avid genealogist, and enjoyed creating miniatures in his business, The WeeSmiths. Larry worked as an electrical serviceman for many years at Toledo Edison, and then a Supervisor at First Energy, retiring in 1993. In 1961, he married Carol Wheelock at Faith Methodist Church, Gibsonburg; and after 53 years of marriage, she survives him. He is also survived by son, Mitchell (Nina) Smith of Sammamish, WA and their 2 children. Larry is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Chad Smith. A Time of Fellowship and Sharing will be offered on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clyde Public Library in memory of Larry.
