Americo Zavaleta, 62, most recently of Sylva, NC died on January 5, 2015. He was born on November 4, 1952 in Olton, TX to the late Bartolo and Adeliada (Ledesma) Zavaleta. Americo served our country in the Army, being stationed in Fort Bragg, NC. In 1975 He married Brenda Sue Estep at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg. Americo worked as a residential maintenance manager. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and horses. Through his life he was an enthusiast of vehicles from classic to model cars. Surviving is his wife, Brenda; daughter, Tabatha (Joshua) Gillett of Sylva, NC; grandchildren, Blayne Ian Americo Zavaleta, Layla Alicia Gillett and Devyn Ian Scott Zavaleta; and six brothers and six sisters currently living in Ohio, Michigan and Texas. He is preceded in death by his son, Ian Americo Bartolo Zavaleta and two siblings. Visitation will be held on Tuseday, Jan. 13, 2015, 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Blair Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
