Austin Daniel Davis, age 26, of Fremont, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the James Cancer Hospital, Columbus surrounded by his wife, Alison, family and friends. He was born on May 27, 1988 to Steven an Susan (Riffell) Davis in Columbus, OH. Austin battled sarcoma, and his faith and strength during his illness were an inspiration to others. Austin was a 2006 graduate of Morgan High School in McConnelsville, OH and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from The Ohio State University. He traveled the country as a commercial claims adjuster on the National Catastrophe Team for Nationwide Insurance. Austin was an avid Cleveland Indians and OSU sports fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, soccer, and golfing. He was active in 4-H, FFA and The Edge Youth Group. He attended Stockport United Methodist Church and Grace Community Church in Fremont. On August 11, 2012, Austin married Alison Park in Burgoon, OH. She survives him. He is also survived by parents, Steven and Susan of Stockport; twin siblings, Laura and Joshua Davis of Stockport and Sarah Davis of Amarillo, TX; and paternal grandparents, Patsy and Dwight Davis of Stockport. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Kathryn Riffell. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont, where family and friends will be welcomed beginning at 4 p.m. An additional informal celebration will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Edge Youth Center in Malta, Ohio, from 2-5 p.m. for food and fellowship with a short service at 5 p.m. with pastor Jamie White, Mt. Olivet Community Church, Stockport and pastor Jeff Karnes, Brown's Chapel Christian Church, North Carolina, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MoCo Team Blue, Ohio State University's Steps for Sarcoma or the Austin Davis Scholarship Fund through First National Bank, McConnelsville. Austin donated his body to Ohio State in search of a cure.
