Fremont resident, Thomas Flores, 89, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. He was born on September 20, 1925 to Abran and Guadalupe (Quiroga) Flores in Mercedes, TX. Thomas enlisted into the Army on December 11, 1943 during WWII, serving in Europe. He was Honorably Discharged on January 28, 1946. Following his discharge, Thomas went on to be a machine operator. In 1990, Thomas married Alvena Brocksmith in Kansas, OH. Thomas is survived by his wife, Alvena Flores; many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Connie Montes of Fremont, Mary Sanchez of Bowling Green, Fidella Brown of Fostoria, and Frances Castillo of Gibsonburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Petar Castro. Graveside Services will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Millersville on Thursday, March 12, 2015, 11 a.m. Military Rites will be provided by the Gibsonburg American Legion Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethesda Care Center Activities Department.
