Fremont resident, Olive M. Chidester, 77, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born on February 6, 1938 in Sandusky, OH to Elwood Bernard and Clara Catherine (Heiberger) Boger. Olive was a Sandusky High School graduate and worked at Toledo Edison, Davis Besse Nuclear Power Station, as a facility maintenance administrative assistant, retiring in 1989. Once moving to Mesa, AZ, she worked as a housekeeping supervisor for Cyprus Court Assisted Living until 2003. Olive enjoyed watching "Dancing With the Stars", "The Ellen Show", and the Lifetime Channel. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, painting, and cross stitching. She enjoyed playing bingo and mahjong on pogo.com and loved to dance with her husband. Olive married Virgil Chidester on September 15, 1956 in Angola, IN. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2006. Together, they had five children; Ron (Cindy) Chidester of Garrett, IN, Chris (Steve McCormick) Clark of Fort Myers, FL, Lin (Ken) Roy of Fremont, Bev (Ed) Pedrosa of Fremont, and Don (Marshella) Chidester of Newport, MI. They survive. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Florence Pocock and Ellie Leber. Olive is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil; and siblings, Charlie, Butch, Edward Boger, and Rhetta Jean Smith. Family and friends will be welcomed at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 7 p.m. with Rev. Brian Hild officiating. Burial will be private at Lindsey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Truth Ministries (745 Gypsum Road, Gypsum, OH 43433).
