Harold F. Kaseman, 93, of Gibsonburg died on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Windsor Lane Health Care Center, Gibsonburg. Born in Gibsonburg on October 15, 1921, Harold was a son of the late Henry and Theresa (Myers) Kaseman. During the Great Depression, he was engaged with the Civilian Conservation Corp and later served his country during WWII. As a private in the US Army, 124th Artillery Battalion, he was based in New Guinea and Luzon, receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon a one Bronze Star. He was a member of the Gibsonburg Post of the American Legion. On August 31, 1946 he married Alice M. Grosjean at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Alice passed on Aug. 9, 2013. Harold worked at the former Pfizer Lime Plant, Gibsonburg for about 25 years until its closure. He then moved on to work as a heavy equipment assembler for Modine Manufacturing, formerly of Pemberville. He worked there for 20 years, retiring at the age of 68. Surviving are children, Jean (David) Kayden of Herndon, VA and Thomas Kaseman of Gibsonburg; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great, great-grandchildren; and sister Hilda Clifton of Gibsonburg. Harold is preceded in death by his wife; great-grandson, Stephan Kaseman and siblings Alvena VanNess, Lucille Fair, Henrietta Damschroder, Viola Henry and Ernest Kaseman. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the funeral home where visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m.. Rev. Phil Park-Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg where military honors will be presented by members of the Gibsonburg American Legion Honor Guard.
