Ruth L. Schwartz, 91, of Gibsonburg, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Genoa Care Center. She was born on December 28, 1923 in Gibsonburg to Charles and Martha (Freet) Fehlhaber. Ruth was a 1942 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and married Allen L. Schwartz on April 20, 1946 in Hessville. She was a homemaker, and will also be remembered as working at the Ideal Bakery, as a cook at the Gibsonburg High School for 11 years, cashier at Herman's IGA and as a waitress at Lutz's Restraunt. Ruth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Ruth is survived by son, James (Louise) Schwartz of Oak Harbor; of Fremont; grandchildren, Chad and Cortny; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Adalynn. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen, who passed away on January 23, 1997; brother, Kenneth (JoAnne) Fehlhaber and sister, Beatrice (Max) Collins. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 1-6 p.m. Funeral Services will take place at the funeral home Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. where visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service. Pastor Blair Miller will officiate, and burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to a charity of the donor's choice.
