Tex Gilmore Frey, 85, of Fremont, died on July 25, 2015 at the Fremont ProMedica Memorial Hospital ER. Born in Dallas, TX on January 6, 1930, he was a son of Henry G. and Cleva (Weller) Frey. Tex was a 1948 graduate of Fremont Ross High School where he was a star football and basketball player. He was an avid football, basketball, baseball and OSU fan. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. As a young man, Tex worked at his Father's business, Henry G. Frey Company. He later went on to become store manager of the former Buckeye Mart. In 2000 he retired from Tritch Door & Window LLC, Fremont where he worked as a garage door installer. Tex married Bonnie Jean Little on September 1, 1962 in Angola, IN; she preceded him in death on November 14, 2012. He is survived by children, James (Terry) Frey of San Diego, CA, Fabienne (Thomas) Stout of Punta Gorda, FL, Michael (Vickie) Frey of San Diego, CA, Nicholas Frey of Elgin, IL, Thomas (Cheryl) Frey of Fremont, Deborah Harmon of WV, and Rebecca Shertzer of Fremont; siblings, Harold "Bugs" (Betty) Frey of Fremont, JoAnn (Bob) Scott of Hilton Head, SC, Cleva "Tody" Brown of Whitehouse, OH, and Neal (Gretchen) Frey of Conneaut, OH; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Tex is also preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Nanette Amanda Frey; grandson, Michael Kristopher Frey; and brother-in-law, Bob Brown. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Four Mile House Cemetery, Fremont. Pastor Gary Click will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or any Adoption Service of the donor's choice.
