Virginia "Gine" M. Rahe, 94, of Gibsonburg died on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Toledo Hospital. She was born on October 5, 1920 in Fremont to Charles and Mary (Keiser) Schock. Gine was a 1939 Gibsonburg High School Graduate.After graduation Gine worked at Erie Proving Grounds as an artillery inspector. She also worked at Sis Ellis' Beauty Shop and Nufher's flower shop before opening her own salon, Gine's Salon of Beauty.On January 25, 1943, she married Harold "Dutch" Rahe. They were married for 45 years until his passing on January 27, 1988. Gine was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was Le Chapeau Departmental d' Ohio 8 & 40 from 1967-1968. She was a member of Sandusky County Salon # 597. Gine had volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing bridge, and was active in her church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Surviving are children, Dennis (Rev. Linda) Rahe of Holland, Michael (Janet) Rahe of Ashtabula and Mari Jividen (Robert) of Genoa; 3 grandchildren, Sharilyn (Ray) Santoro and William Rahe; step-grandchildren, Tammy, Ryan and Kris; 8 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold; grandson, Dennis Paul Rahe; sister, Almeda Mason and long time companion, Roy "Whitey" Crispen. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 3-8 p.m. The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will hold an honorary service on Saturday at 4:30p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday the 23rd at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg where her body will lie in state one hour prior to the start of the services. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to the American Legion Auxiliary
