Eleanor L. Woodruff, age 99, of Lindsey died on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Valley View Healthcare Center, Fremont. She was born on Sept. 17, 1915 in Toledo to Edward and Bertha (Emch) Obermyer, moving to Woodville at an early age. She married Tracy Woodruff on June 3, 1937 in Sandusky, OH. He passed away Sept. 19, 2001 after 64 years of marriage. Mrs. Woodruff was the bookkeeper of the Woodruff Hatchery in Lindsey, retiring in 1985. Before her marriage, she was a 4-H Club member and 4-H Club leader. She was an active member of Trinity U.M. Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class, Choir member for many years, and Sunday School teacher for over 45 years. She served several terms as President of Spreng Circle, and was also Secretary of Ohio Sandusky Conference Service Guilds. She loved music, reading, crossword puzzles, Ohio State football, and especially traveling with her husband, Tracy. They visited all 50 U.S. states and provinces in Canada bordering the U.S., plus Europe and the Holy Land. Surviving are sons, Gerald (Leslie) Woodruff of Columbus and Richard (Susana) Woodruff of Yorktown Heights, NY; grandchildren, Rich, Debbie, and Lori; 10 great-grandchildren; plus many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tracy; brothers, Leonard, Lowell, and Glenn; and sisters, Lucille Owen and Lois Meyer. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Trinity U.M. Church, Lindsey, where her body will lie in state one hour prior to the start of the services. Pastor Travis Montgomery will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lindsey Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsey.
