Norman "Bud" E. Harman, 90, of Fremont, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Elmwood Assisted Living, Fremont. Born on March 8, 1925 in West Millgrove, OH, he was a son of Paul William and Zelma Latilda (Taylor) Harman. Bud was a 1944 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On July 12, 1947, he married Jennie Perna in Columbus. She passed on June 25, 1995. Bud was a carpenter with Local 2239, retiring in 1988. He was a WWII, U.S. Navy Veteran, stationed on the USS Sanders DE40, serving in the Japan, Central and South Pacific Theaters. He was a lifetime member of the WWII Memorial & US Navy Memorial in Washington, DC; a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and of the Fremont VFW and American Legion. He is survived by son, Scott (Cheri) Harman of MI; daughter, Kathryn Rohring of NY; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and long time companion, Suzanne Spriggs of Fremont. Norman is preceded in death by his wife, Jennie; parents; stepmother, Alice (Sump) Harman, siblings, Lester Ray Harman, Virginia Mae Pasch and Gertrude Glassford. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m & on Wednesday, Sept, 2, 10:30 to 11:30 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fremont where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial with Military Rites will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
