Fremont resident, Estella J. Knepper, 101, passed away Sun., Aug. 30, 2015 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont. Born on June 22, 1914 in Gibsonburg, she was the last surviving child of twelve children of John and Pansy (Crispen) Brubaker. Estella graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1932. She married Chester Knepper on Apr. 20, 1934 in Fremont. He passed on Apr. 8, 1990. As a homemaker, Estella was a caring Mother, great cook and loved hosting family dinners. Surviving her are sons, Dr. Donald Knepper and Richard (June) Knepper of Fremont and David (Vicki) Knepper of Toledo; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 10 great, great-grandchildren. Estella is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Goldie LaBeau, John Brubaker Jr., Ruth Craver, Mae Henline, Ray and Walter Brubaker, Helen Williamson, Willard Brubaker, Florence Lancaster, Norman Brubaker and an infant sister. Visitation will be held on Wed., Sept 2, 6-8 p.m. and on Thurs., Sept. 3 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg where Funeral Services will be held on Thurs. at 10:30. Burial will follow at Washington Chapel Cemetery, Fremont. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, or to the Helena Community or Lindsey Volunteer Fire Departments.
