F. Eleanor (Hall) Rolf, 98, formerly of Gibsonburg, passed away on Thurs., Sept. 24, 2015 in Columbus. Eleanor was born in Dunkirk, OH on Jan. 12, 1917 to Howard and Minnie (Fulton) Hall. She was a 1936 graduate of Dunkirk High School. She attended Ohio Northern University and later graduated from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing with her RN in 1942. Eleanor married Herman Rolf on February 21, 1942, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Castalia. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg, where she was an active member for more than 60 years. In addition to gardening, cooking and baking, her great pleasure was to enjoy retirement with their kids and grandkids. Surviving are children, Cheryl (John) Phalen of Fort Worth, TX, Todd (Sharon) Rolf of Columbus and Rex (Terri) Rolf of Highlands Ranch, CO; 5 grandchildren, Krista (Lance) Sleeper of Ft. Worth, TX, Dr. Kim (Ryan) Radway of Steamboat Springs, CO, Kelly (David) McGraw and Kyle Rolf, all of Columbus and Haley Rolf of Highlands Ranch, CO; and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Herman; parents; beloved step mother, Irena B. Hall; and sister, Margaret Hall. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Trillium Crossing in Columbus and all of their wonderful nurses and staff who took such good care of her, and to Dr. Mary Wonderly and her staff who cared for her for many years. Visitation will be held on Wed. Sept. 30, at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 4-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thurs. Oct. 1 at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg beginning at 10:30am with one hour visitation prior to service. Rev. Blair Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.
