Ronald Dean Whisler, 83 of Fremont, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at Promedica Toledo Hospital. Ronald was born in Fremont on July 16, 1932 to Victor D. and Aletha L. (Lee) Whisler. He graduated from Fremont Ross in 1950 and attended the Ohio School of Banking- Kent State University and Ohio University. Ron was a member of Green Springs Lodge F & AM, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Zenobia Shrine, Toledo. He was employed at the former Liberty National Bank, Ohio Liquid Disposal/Chemical Waste Management and The Fremont Federal Credit Union. Ron was a Life Member of The Sandusky County Sportsman's Assoc., and a member of Sandusky County Hawkeyes, Ohio Long Rifle Collectors, National Rifle Assoc., National Muzzle Loading Rifle Assoc., The Honourable Company of Horners and former member of The Gibsonburg Deer Hunters. He was an avid hunter and muzzle loading rifle enthusiast and builder. He was deeply interested in the history of this area, particularly of the mid 1700's. Ronald married Bonnie K. Keim in September, 1976 and she survives. Also surviving are son, Adam J. (Brandi) Whisler of Phoenix, AZ, step-daughter, Kris (Dave) Rice of Cygnet,OH and step-son Clay (Dawn) Keim of Fremont; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; estranged children, Elizabeth Aten, Joseph Whisler and John Whisler also survive. He is preceded by his parents; sister, Goldie M. Whisler; brother, Donald L. Whisler; and sons, Jacob Whisler and Andrew B. Whisler. Family and friends will be welcomed on Wed. Nov. 11, 5-8 pm, at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont, where Masonic Services will be at 7 pm. Funeral Services will be on Thur., Nov. 12, 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sandusky County Humane Society.
