Concepcion "Connie" Montes

Fremont resident, Concepcion "Connie" Montes, 79, passed away Wed., Nov. 25, 2015 at the Bethesda Care Center in Fremont.    Born in Brownsville, TX on Mar. 15, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Abraham and Guadalupe (Quiroga) Flores.  Connie was a homemaker, a member of the former St. Casimir Catholic Church and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was known to frequently volunteer her time.   On Dec. 1, 1962, Connie married Gabriel Montes, Sr. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clyde.  He preceded her in death on Mar. 14, 2005.   Surviving are children Rosa "Rosie" (Tom) Miller of Pittsburgh, PA, Gabriel "Gabe" Montes, Jr. of Fremont, Linda (Jesse Silverman) Montes and Mark Montes all of Redwood City, CA; grandchildren Kyle and Keith Miller and Mariana, Joselyn and Ethan Silverman; and siblings Mary Sanchez of Bowling Green, Fidella Brown of Fostoria and Francis (Lupe) Castillo of Gibsonburg.   Connie is also preceded in death by siblings Tom Flores and Petra Castro.   Visitation will be Sun., Nov. 29, 1-3 & 5-7 p.m. at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont where Vigil Services will begin at 6:30 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Mon., Nov. 30, 10:30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating.   Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.   Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
