Michael J. Haynes

July 31, 1951 — January 1, 2016

Michael J. Haynes, 64, of Fremont, passed away peacefully on January 1 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 31, 1951 in Sandusky, OH to James and Mary (Ryan) Haynes. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1969. Mike married Barb Saam in Sept. 1972. He retired from Glatfelter (formerly known as Moore Business Forms) in August of 2011, after over 35 years of service. Mike was very active in various activities at St. Joseph Church (AKA Mr. Bingo). As a Knight of Columbus, he helped with the Measure Up Campaigns and also the School of Hope Basketball Free Throws.


Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barb Vollmar, and his brother Mark. He is survived by his wife Barb, son, Dustin (Cheri) of Gates Mills, and daughter, Dr. Heather Haynes of Fremont. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy Haynes (Sr. Mary Brenda) of Slaton, TX, Pat Miller (Gary) of Dayton, Peggy Barth (Fred) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and Liz Shreffler (Allen) of Gibsonburg.  Grandchildren: Mason, Mackenzie, Peyton, Andi, Nick, Drake and Scarlet.


A Memorial Service will be held at East Side Presbyterian Church, 1020 Kentucky Ave., Fremont, on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
