Nancy L. Young, of Fremont, passed away on Sun., Jan. 31, 2016 at Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky. She was born on March 15, 1931 in Fremont, Ohio to Arthur E. and Evelyn I. (Overmyer) Deno. In 1949, Nancy graduated from Ross High School, and on September 9, 1950 she married Ward L. "Skip" Young at Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont.
She worked as a fabric artist and was known for her skilled embroidery. She was a member of Plant & Bloom Garden Club and O.C.C.L. Nancy was involved with many church activities such as bell choir, Daughters Circle, teaching Sunday school and Bible study. Nancy enjoyed gardening, flowers, fish fries and traveling.
Nancy is survived by children, Steve (Rev. Chris) Young of Port Clinton and Michael Young of Sandusky; grandchildren, Nathan (Camaron)Young and Lydia Webb; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Elijah, Jacob, Samuel and Hope; siblings, Judy Koebel of Fremont and John Deno of Athens, OH.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ward; daughters, Brenda Y. Webb and Denise Young; and grandson, Timothy Young; and sister, Barbara Deno.
Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont, OH on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11 A.M. There will be an hour of visitation at the church prior to the start of the service beginning at 10 A.M. Certified Celebrant Maureen Pump will officiate.
Burial will follow at Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont or Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky.
