Rural Gibsonburg resident, Elizabeth "Sally" Ann Jahna, 65, passed away on Wed., Mar. 9, 2016 at her home. Born in Fremont on Oct. 4, 1950, she was a daughter of the late David Forest & Dorothy (Cherry) Ickes, Sr.
Sally was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Reino's Cleaners for over 11 years. Sally loved her family and grandchildren; she enjoyed gardening, cooking for family get-togethers, crocheting, and crafting. On June 2, 1972, she married Robert Henry Jahna, Sr. in Woodville; he survives.
Also surviving are children, Kevin, Robert, Jr., Bryan (Jennifer), Terri (James) Vargo, and Eddie (Karie); grandchildren, Matt (Leah), Mykel (Jacki), Jordan (Brittney), Erik, Selena, Vicente, Morgan, Austin, Travis, Alysha, Mariana, Emilie, Kaylie, Connor, and Conrad; and siblings, Bill (Brenda), Tom (Ruth), John Ickes, Judy (Mike) Black, Marsha Fritz, Penny Yingling, and Linda (Riley) Long.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents; brother, David "Butch" Jr.; and granddaughter, Brooklyne Jahna.
Visitation will be Sun., Mar. 13, 2-5 p.m., at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg; where Funeral Services will be on Mon., Mar. 14 beginning at noon. Rev. Max Ulderich will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Memorial donations may be directed to Stein Hospice, Sandusky or to the Gibsonburg High School Athletic Boosters.
