Gibsonburg resident, David Allen Doster, 51 died Tues., March 15th at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrrysburg.
Born on Aug. 1, 1964 in Fremont he was a son of Carroll and Roberta (Snuggs) Doster. David was a 1982 Old Fort High School/ Vanguard Vocational graduate. After graduation, David entered the U.S. Navy. He was known for his contracting work and many knew him as a Master Improvisor.
David spent much of his time with his fellow veterans. He was a Commander of the Bettsville American Legion Post 733 and was serving as 2ND Vise Commander and Sergeant of Arms of the American Legion 5th District of Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, helping others and cannon making. David was a member of the Gillmore Ordinance, Cannon Brigade of Old Fort, OH.
Surviving are his parents,Carroll & Roberta, who live in Gibsonburg; siblings, Dawn Duke of Bellevue, Dale (Shawna) Rosenberger of Gibsonburg, Candace (Troy) Saunders of Gibsonburg and Todd (Barb) Rosenberger of Rising Sun; nieces and nephews, Tim, Suzane, Nate, Ashley, Brett, Jordan, Ryan, Megan, Lucas and Simon; 18 great nieces and nephews; and his former wife, JoLynne (Martin) of Waverly, VA.
Visitation will be Fri., March 18, 2016 from 4-8 P.M. at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Funeral services will be on Sat., March 19, 2016 at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Max Ulderich will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg in the Veterans Section.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Sandusky County Cancer Care Fund- United Way.
