Howard William Eversole, 88, of Fremont, passed away at his home on Monday, March 28, 2016. He was born in Hessville, on March 27,1928 to Eli and Sarah (Davies) Eversole. On May 22, 1954, he married Carol Ann Fausey in Fremont.
Howard was drafted on July 24, 1952. He served in the Armored Division of the U.S Army during the Korean War. He was discharged April 23, 1954. Howard was a tow motor driver for Armstrong Air, retiring in 1992.
Howard was a member of the former Memorial United Methodist Church, Fremont and played church dart ball for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Fremont VFW, was a racing fan, enjoyed fishing, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and the Indians.
Surviving Howard is his wife, Carol; children, Richard (Christine) of Burgoon, Brenda Kohlenberg of Fremont and Greta Eversole of Tiffin; brother, Clarence Eversole of Fremont; grandchildren, Jason, Guy, Lance & Cory Kohlenberg, Richard Michael Eversole, Laura Ranzenberger, Carolyn Doss, and Christopher & Ashley Stahl; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Robert Eversole, Margaret Cummings, Glen Eversole, Thelma Irene Ernst and Ruth Halstead.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1st at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont from 3-8pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg with Military Rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or donor's choice.
