Dana Owen Howey, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Vista Care Center of Milan surrounded by his family. He was born on November 8, 1952 in Fremont to Virgil Owen and Audre M. (Young) Howey.
Dana graduated Fremont Ross High School in 1970. He was a painter & antique dealer in Fremont, OH.
Dana was great at refinishing antique furniture. He was truly a talented guy, with a natural artistic ability. Many knew him as “Brother Woodstock” because he was said to have never left Woodstock and was still living in that era. Dana loved rock-n-roll.
Dana is survived by son, Chad (Yvette) Howey of Clyde; grandsons, Cole, Owen, and Evan; siblings, Randi McClintock and Jamie (Roger) Hafford, both of Fremont, nieces & nephews, Kassie Lands, Kory Sherer, Karra Elswick, Karly Stover, Katie McClintock, Robert Heberling; and many great nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, David Warren Howey, and great-nephew, Samual David Stover.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9th from 2-4 p.m., with a Memorial Service beginning at 4 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.
