Betty Jacobs

Former Toledo resident, Betty J. Jacobs, 92, passed away surrounded by her family at her rural Helena home Thurs, Apr. 7, 2016.

Born on Oct. 2, 1923, Betty was a daughter of Arthur and Hazel (Hamlin) Norris. As a graduate of Waite High School, she continued on working as a bookkeeper at the SealTest Diary. She later retired from the Northwood Inn and Northwood Villa.

In 1947 she married Lawrence Jacobs in Toledo. They were married for 52 years until his passing on June 22, 1999.

Betty was a self reliant individual that made herself available to help her family and loved ones. She'll be remembered for always showing her smile and being one never to complain. She also enjoyed crafts and ceramics.

Surviving her are children Pam Crofts, Michael “Jake” (Bev) Jacobs all of Helena, Doug (Sharon) Jacobs of West Unity, OH and Patrick Jacobs of St. Petersburg, FL; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 3 great, great-grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law Mike Crofts; and 7 siblings including her twin sister.

Visitation will be Sunday, Apr. 10, 2016, 1-4 p.m., at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg, where Funeral Services will begin at 4 p.m. Rev. Gary Click will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ProMedica Memorial Hospice, Fremont or Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg.
