Loran McClish, 82 of Gibsonburg, Ohio passed away May 4, 2016 in his home under hospice care in the company of his wife and daughter. Born May 27, 1933 in Woodville, Ohio, he was the son of Clarence and Arlene (Scoville) McClish. A 1952 graduate of Woodville High School, Loran was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country stationed in Germany during peace time. He spent most of his life working with the public. He worked on the Ohio Turnpike when it first opened for the Texaco Oil Company at the service plaza as assistant manager. He also owned and operated the Woodville Marathon and Woodville NAPA store on West Main Street. Loran retired from Elmore Manufacturing in 2000. His most enjoyment was time with family and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet; children, Scott McClish of Nashville, TN, and Stacie (Dean) Anstead of Gibsonburg; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) McClish of Mayfield Hgts, Devan and Jessica McClish of Nashville and Larkin Anstead of Gibsonburg; nephews, David (Joanne) McClish of Findlay and Douglas (Leigh) McClish of Lucky; sisters-in-law, Norma McClish of Woodville and Sandra McClish of Arlington.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Harry McClish and Jack McClish.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department, Woodville Volunteer Fire Department or Faith United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg.
Visitation will be held at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Sunday, May 8th from 1-6 P.M. Funeral Services will be Monday, May 9th at 11 A.M. at Faith United Methodist Church, Gibsonburg. There will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the start of the service beginning at 10 A.M. Rev. Phil Park-Thomas will officiate.
