Lola L. King

Lola Louise King, 85, of Fremont passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky. She was born on April 6, 1931 in Fremont to Joseph Edward Amor, Sr. and Lillian (Myers) Amor.

Lola was a 1949 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. She was a homemaker, but also owned & operated the King's Embroidery, and worked as a seasonal scheduler at Heinz for several years.

Lola enjoyed the game of golf, where she was a member of the Sr. Women's Golf League and frequently played in the Couples Golf League at the River Cliff Golf Course.  She was a member of the Fremont Yacht Club, headed kids crafts at the First United Church of Christ, and enjoyed her weekly coffee time with her lady friends. 

Lola enjoyed reading books by Debbie Macomber and Danielle Steele.  She organized the class reunion, and was not a stranger to anyone as she hugged everyone.  Lola was a huge sports fan; having attended many Cleveland Indians spring training games.

On April 8, 1950, she married Paul Raymond King in Fremont; he passed away on April 10, 2008. Together they raised children, Richard "Rick" (Pat) King of MI, and Cynthia (Bill) Stierwalt and Mark (Susan) King, all of Fremont. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Eric King, Jenny (Mitch) Cromes, Lindsay (Mike) Bolser, and Jared (Sam Lagrou) King; and great-granddaughter, Harper Cromes.

She is preceded in death by parents; husband, Paul; grandson, Billy Stierwalt; and brothers, Joe, Jr., Jim, Jack, Dick, and Bill Amor.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral Services will be on Friday, May 20, 2016, 10 a.m., at the First United Church of Christ, Fremont; with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
