Marjorie Nighswander

Marjorie A. Nighswander, 83, of Fremont passed away on September 11, 2016 at the Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. Marjorie was born on June 15, 1933 to John and Laura (Mays) Genzman in Ottawa, County.

Marjorie graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1951. On April 6, 1952 she married Dale E. Nighswander, who preceded her in death on May 2, 2014. She worked for Eaton Controls for 30 years, retiring in 1991. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending her time reading and listening to music.

She is survived by her son, Gary Nighswander of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Vicki Nighswander of FL; grand-daughter, Erica Nighswander of FL; siblings, Glenn (Kathy) Genzman, Audrey (Myron) Nickel, Don (Donna) Genzman, Judy Wolf, Janet (Roger) Schultz, and Carol Fetterman; brother-in-law, John (Susie) Nighswander of Lindsey; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Tom Nighswander in 1985; and sisters, Elaine Applegate and Evelyn Miller. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont from 11-12 p.m. with services beginning at 12 p.m. with Susann Robitski Zimmerman, Certified Funeral Celebrant officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice in Marjorie’s memory.
