Larry L. Schwochow, 70, died on Tuesdsay, October 25, 2016 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky. He was born on December 3, 1945 to Walton and Helen Schwochow. He was a 1963 graduate of Bettsville High School He married his high school sweetheart, Vivian Miller, on June 20th, 1965 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fremont, OH. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972.
Larry loved his Lord, his wife, children and grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed the outdoors. He was very skillful with his hands whether it be working on a car, A/C, furnace, plumbing, electrical, or tree work and always willing to help others. He was past president of the Bettsville Exchange Club, co-chair of the Bettsville Blast, a member of the Amvets, American Legion, served in many capacities for St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fremont, OH, and held various positions for the Fostoria Area Housing Providers.
Survivors include his loving wife, Vivian, of 51 years; sons, Stephen (Ann) of Bettsville and Kevin (Cathy) of Fremont. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ashley, Stephen II, Levi, Garrett and Ty; sisters, Doris Bickley and Alice Jeanette; brothers, Dale and Galen; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert; and sisters, Lulu Spanfellner and Donna Sandler.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 212 N. Clover St., Fremont, OH 43420 where there will be an additional hour of visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Scott Mauch will officiate. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery where military honors will be given by the American Legion.
