After a lifetime of being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, but most of all, an example of a true Christian, Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Ochs went home to be with her Father in heaven on Friday morning Oct. 28, 2016 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. She was born in Fremont on April 22, 1926 to Joseph & Mary (Widman) Naderer. On April 23, 1949, she married Francis “Shorty” Ochs. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2008.
Betty was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Confraternity of Blessed Sacrament, St. Joseph Marian Society, Church Women United, and Fremont Scrabble Club.
Surviving are children, Sarah (William) Seilheimer of Lewis Center, Joseph (LaDonna) Ochs, William (Peggy) Ochs both of Burgoon, Joan (Geoff) Wizgird , Theresa (Jay) Hensley both of Fremont, Janet (Rob) Majoy of Huron and Peter (Kendra) Ochs of Vickery; 19 grandchildren, Stephanie Rhineberger, Chad Seilheimer, Chad & Eric Ochs, Shawna Blunt, Ashleigh & Curtis Ochs, Tammy, Adam & Kevin Mikolajczyk, Heidi Good, Erin Voland & Mandy Hensley, Abby Mullins, Lexi, Nino & Tino Majoy, Janelle Niese & Kyle Ochs; 13 great-grandchildren, Samantha & Katlyn Rhineberger, Maddie, Bella, Jace and Cade Ochs, Jackson Blunt, Kira and Khloe Fox, Henry and Audrey Good, Blaine Mikolajczyk, and Malia Voland; siblings, Agnes (Bernard) Boes of Kirby, Peter (Marcie) Naderer of Fremont and Paul (Kate) Naderer of Helena; sister-in-law, Mildred Naderer of Fostoria; brother-in-law, Lawrence Gutschalk of Helena.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis; infant daughter, Maryann; siblings, John (Irene), Hubert, Louis (May), and Mary Naderer, Ann (Herman) Frankart, and Helen Gutschalk, 3 infant grandsons and son-in-law, Don Mikolajczyk.
Visitation will be held on Tues., Nov. 1, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont where a Vigil will be held in the evening. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wed., Nov. 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church where there will be an additional hour of visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Michael Zacharias will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools.
