Lifelong Sandusky County and Gibsonburg, OH resident, Timothy Reed, 55, died unexpectedly Wed. Jan 11, 2017 at the ProMedica Memorial Hospital, Fremont.
Born in Fremont on May 4, 1961, Tim was one of five sons of James and Phyllis (Dolweck) Reed. He was a 1979 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. He later married the love of his life, Valerie Henline on Dec. 2, 1989 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Gibsonburg. Together, they had two daughters, Alyssa and Brooke.
Tim was a machine operator for the Sandusky County Engineer’s Office Maintenance Department. Throughout his life, he was a devoted member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and was very active with the Gibsonburg Chapters of the FFA and 4-H, in particular with Hereford Cattle. Tim sat on the Sandusky County Fair Board Beef Committee and was a member of S.C.R.A.P. He was a well-known participant with both organizations’ annual events. He considered working on the family farm a passion of his, as well as being an avid OSU fan and snowmobiler. Tim formerly played on the Reed Farms Mens’ Softball Team, and coached the girls’ summer recreational Reed Farms softball team. His enthusiasm for all sporting events will be missed.
Tim is survived by his parents, wife and daughters, all of Gibsonburg; brothers, James L. of Rossford, Jeff R. (Lisa), Doug P. (Sonya) and AJ (Amy) Reed, all of Gibsonburg; and nieces and nephews, Austin & Ryan, Elsie & Derek and Olivia.
He is preceded in death by his niece, Emma.
Visitation will be at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Sat. Jan. 14, 1-5 p.m. and on Sun. Jan. 15, 1-5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Mon. Jan. 16, 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Lawrence/St. Michael Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Gibsonburg or to the Multiple Sclerosis Ohio Buckeye Chapter, 6155 Rockside Rd. Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131.
