Gibsonburg resident, Hilda “Tootsie” Marie Caroline Fork, 93 passed away Thurs., Mar. 16, 2017 at her son’s home in Pemberville.
Born on Oct. 14, 1923 in rural Woodville, Hilda was one of five children of Henry and Katherine (Specht) Ohm.
Hilda graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1942 and later married Raymond Fork in Topeka, Kansas on May 6, 1944. Together they shared 64 years of marriage until his passing on April 3, 2008.
Hilda was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg and a former member of the Gibsonburg American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Hilda was a most caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a special gift of always seeing the good in others. Never caring about the fancy or elaborate, she instead valued and found beauty in everyday things; a perfect orange, a steady rain, birds feeding upside down at the feeder, her mom's sugar cookies, a new kitten. We love you Mom. We will miss you beyond measure. Thank you for blessing us with 93 years.
Surviving her are children Tanya Bell of Perrysburg and Steve (Deb) Fork of Pemberville; grandchildren Nick Bell, Andrea (Gus) Schowengerdt, and Daniel Bell; great granddaughter Annie Schowengerdt; and sister Marian (Paul) Meyerholtz of Perrysburg.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Raymond; son-in-law Craig Bell; and siblings Robert Ohm, Ruth Haubert and Raymond Ohm.
