Fremont resident, Tom Hickman, 65, passed away Saturday morning, June 10, 2017, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
Tom was born on Nov. 15, 1951 in Fremont to Elmer and Doris (Aldrich) Kasischke Hickman. He married Karen Hendricks on July 11, 1970 and later divorced. He later married Janice Mason and divorced. Tom soon decided that marriage wasn’t his thing.
Tom was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 1915 for 36 years. He worked at TRW, formerly Kelsey-Hayes retiring in 2006. He was a member of the former Garfield Church of Christ in Gibsonburg. He loved to travel, visiting most states on his Harley-Davidson, including Alaska. Tom liked to fly his ultra-light and paraglider. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality and great sense of humor.
Surviving are his son, Chad (Melissa) Hickman of Fremont; siblings Larry (Dalene) Hickman of Dunbridge and Melody (Jerry) Haar of Elmore; grandchildren Zachary and Brady Hickman; father Elmer (Frances) Hickman of Gibsonburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom also cherished the friendship with Neal Ross, Mitch Rhodes, Theresa Myers and his numerous coffee drinking friends at Denny’s
Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Kasischke; stepfather Robert Kasischke; and stepsister Vicki Kasischke.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
A time to celebrate Tom’s life will be offered at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Wed., June 14, 4-8 p.m.
