Breta M. Mock, 90, of rural Gibsonburg, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Otterbein Portage Valley. She was born on May 15, 1927 in Orton, OH to the late, Elmer & Alice (Napper) Wiseman.
On January 19, 1948, Breta married Marvin R. Mock in Covington, KY. Together they raised 5 children. They were together until Marvin’s passing on Nov. 5, 1986.
She loved her family and was comfortable raising the children and being a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elmore and spent time reading her bible. Breta enjoyed sitting in her swing, being with nature, watching the birds and working crossword puzzles.
Surviving are children, Alan (Connie) Mock of Gibsonburg, Bruce (Chris) Mock of Port Clinton, Darrell (Toni) Mock of Woodville, Cheryl Hoffman of Fort Myers, FL and Thelma (Randy) Maynard of Gibsonburg; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and siblings, Dale (Margaret Butcher) Wiseman of Findlay and Violet (Leon) Newnum of Rockville, IN.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; siblings, Jim, Roy, Watson, Lawrence, Harold, Beulah Palmer and Ruby Crawfoot.
A Celebration of Breta’s Life and gathering of family and friends will be offered on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at the family home where Remembrances will be shared.
