Jerald “Blue” A. Hoffman, 77, of Fremont passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Pristine Senior Living, Fremont. He was born on December 23, 1939 in Fremont to the late George and Margaret (Ehrman) Hoffman.
In 1959, Jerry served in the US Army being stationed in Korea. In 1997, after serving as a Staff Sargent with Co. B 612th Engineer Battalion, he retired from his service. Jerry worked for Dayton Marine and Smith’s Meat before retiring from B&W Welding.
Jerry married Kathleen “Kapper” Weiler on July 2, 1971 at Scared Hearth Catholic Church, Fremont. He was a member of the Fremont VFW and a former member of the Eagles.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Kathy are children, Michael Hoffman of Lindsey, Aaron (Lacey) Hoffman of Fremont, Jeremy (Summer) Hoffman of Fremont and Tami (Tony) Hoffman of Mount Victory; 13 grandchildren; his favorite niece, Connie (Kenny) Rowan of Gibsonburg; sister, Frances “Fran” (Bill) Northcutt of Smithville, TN; former daughters-in-law, Letty Hoffman and Jackie Mitten; and many nieces, nephews, and their children.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Ivan Hoffman, Hazel Miller, Art Hoffman, Herb Hoffman and Betty Boonie.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on September 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at their residence. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.
