Roger V. Leyerle, 55, of Gibsonburg passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, Oct. 14, 2017 at Toledo ProMedica.
Born on May 16, 1962 in Chicago, IL, he was a son of Raymond Lee and Lois Linda (Bell) Leyerle. As a 1981 graduate of Gibsonburg High School, Roger obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Administration from Morehead State University. He was self-employed as a maker of trophies and awards, operating R & R Sales in Gibsonburg.
Growing up and living in Gibsonburg, he was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He Loved his OSU Buckeye football, the Detroit Tigers and playing golf.
Surviving him are his siblings, Marc (Laurie) Leyerle of Helena, Bob Leyerle of Gibsonburg, Mike Leyerle of Fremont, Lisa Leyerle of Gibsonburg and Mary Gilbert of Bradner; nephew, Dakota Gilbert of Bradner; and niece Sydney Leyerle of Gibsonburg.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Jo Leyerle.
Roger’s family will be receiving friends on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, 10 a.m- noon & 4-6 p.m., at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. It would have been Roger’s request that everyone attending please wear your OSU gear. Please feel free to join his family in doing so.
Graveside Committal Services will be at St. Lawrence/St. Michael Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gibsonburg High School Athletic Boosters.
