Richard “Dick” Knepper, 78, of rural Fremont passed away unexpectedly from heart complications at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Friday, Nov. 3, 2017.
Born on Aug. 11, 1939 in Fremont, OH, Dick was one of three sons of Chester and Estella (Brubaker) Knepper. Dick graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1957 and worked as a lifelong farmer. He had served in the US Army Reserves and was a former realtor and over-the-road driver for UPS.
On Nov. 21, 1964, Dick married June Hofacker at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fremont. June survives and would have soon been celebrating their 53rd Wedding Anniversary.
Dick was an active member at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont, the National Exchange Club, the Fremont Elks and the Wa Ja Sa Farm Council.
Also surviving are sons, Andrew of Ft. Wayne, IN, Bryan (Tina) and Michael all of Fremont; 3 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Dr. Donald Knepper and David (Vicki) Knepper of Toledo.
Memorial Services will be Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, 11 a.m., at the Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont where there will be visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Jody Rice will officiate.
Burial at Oakwood Cemetery will be at a later date.
Donations in Dick’s memory may be directed to the Grace Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
